IA9100: the next revision of AS9100

AS9100 is getting its first full revision in a decade. Here’s what it is, when it’s expected, and what it means if your quality system runs on JinxQMS.

What IA9100 is

IA9100 is the next edition of AS9100, the quality management standard for aviation, space and defense organizations. The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) is building it on ISO 9001:2026, the new edition of ISO 9001, and is revising the rest of the family alongside it, including AS9110 and AS9120.

The final standard hasn’t been published, so its detailed requirements aren’t settled yet.

When it’s expected

  1. Published

    ISO 9001:2026

The new edition of ISO 9001 came out in 2026. IA9100 is built on it.

  2. Expected

    IA9100 is published

Industry estimates point to late 2026 or 2027. The IAQG hasn’t announced a date.

  3. Expected

    The transition

Certified organizations are expected to get about three years after publication to update their systems and recertify.

These are industry estimates, not IAQG announcements.

We’ll be ready for it.

We’re following IA9100 as it develops. When the IAQG publishes the details, JinxQMS will be ready for the new standard. Until then, your AS9100 system keeps running on JinxQMS exactly as it does today.
